Toilet Repair
Out of all the plumbing fixtures in your house, perhaps the one you depend on most of all is your toilet. If your toilet is not working correctly there is nothing else that can take the place of it. If you are without a toilet, do not worry, SLC Plumbing & Water Heater Repair will fix it and make sure that it will keep working great for you when you need it. There are so many options of toilets that are available and no matter what type or brand you have in your house or business we can fix it for you. Some common problems that you may experience with your toilet may include:
Clogged Toilet: We are all familiar with the panic that can happen when a toilet is clogged. At the time of the clog, one of the best things you can do is gently turn off the water line to the toilet. By turning off the water, hopefully you can keep the water from overflowing the bowl. If you are able to turn off the water, the next step is to use a plunger to force the water and the source of clog down the drain. While we are all aware how to use a plunger to unclog a plugged toilet, if you are having to use a plunger all the time there is probably a bigger problem with your sewer pipes being clogged further down the pipe. In those instances a plunger will not solve the problem and it may require using the sewer clean-out in order to clean the blocked pipe. If you are having problems with a consistently clogged toilet, we can fix it for you.
Running Toilet: There are times your toilet may be leaking and you just can’t see it. But most likely you can hear it “running” which is actually the sound of it leaking. At times you can stop it from “running” by lightly shaking the handle. But when that doesn't work you may need to call a professional plumber at SLC Plumbing & Water Heater Repair. A toilet that is left leaking can waste up to 200 gallons of water a day and also cost you money. There are many problems that cause your toilet to leak like this. It may be from an overflow pipe corroded by hot water or a worn out and brittle flapper valve. It could also be some other problem that is causing the leak that will require us to diagnose in person. If your toilet is leaking from the inside, give us a call so we can fix it.
Toilet Replacement: Toilets have not changed much over the years. However, there have been substantial improvements in their efficiency and effectiveness. Older model toilets can use as much as 3.5 gallons a flush, newer efficient models use much less and can flush better than the older models. If you are interested in using less water per flush or would like more flushing power, let us know, we can install a new toilet for you that will last for many more years.
